rv trip

Well we have started booking for our trip and getting more and more excited. We have booked the 27%26#39; RV from Great Alaskan Holidays and three nights in Denali campground. We have also booked with Emerald Air to photograph the bears ( wife is a little concerned about being that close but we have been told that in 20 years there have been no aggressive bear incidents). We read that driving the RV down to seward/ Homer might be difficult because of the roads. Is this true? Also do we have to worry about break ins with the Rv when we are on day long cruises and bear trips any comments? We are thinking of taking a small boat glacier and wildlife cruise from Millers landing . Has anyone ever taken one and if you have is it worth the time? My wife used to get seasick and airsick but is taking new medication and air sickness hasnt happenned but she is worried about the small boats versuses the large boats at Millers any expierences would be helpful.

Thank you

JimB

rv trip

We did a 10 day RV trip to the Kenai Peninsula two years ago, renting from Great Alaskan. No problems driving it to Homer or Seward, and my husband had never driven an RV before. We had no problems with break-ins nor did we hear of any, but use common sense of course. Most of the RVers we met were very friendly and helpful, and we received good tips from them, on where to go, what to do. The 9 hour Kenai Fjord boat trip out of Seward was one of the highlights of our trip.We were fortunate to have a calm sunny day! You will love Alaska! Any other questions just ask,

Good call on booking your RV with Great Alaskan Holidays. Your intinerary sounds similar to the one I did last September (minus the bear tour). I wouldn%26#39;t worry about an RV break. I%26#39;m sure it happens from time to time, but I don%26#39;t believe it is a common occurence.

In regards to Seasickness...My fiance%26#39; and I went on the 9 hour Major Marines tour. We both took non-drowsy dramamine before and during the trip. We were concerned about it after both getting sick on a shark cage tour in Hawaii. Ultimately, I felt fine and she got a little queasy at one point and had to put her head on the table. But no sickness. The important thing is to take something before the tour. As I%26#39;m sure your wife is aware, there are a variety of remedies to choose from.

We did a three week RV trip, and had absolutely no problem on the Kenai Peninsula leg of the trip. Don%26#39;t worry about break-ins. If you are taking cruises and other guided trips, there will be people around where you leave the RV.....

We really enjoyed the Kenai Fjords cruise which stopped on an island for a salmon bake lunch and then took us to glaciers and stopped so that we could watch the ';calving'; of the glaciers. The ship (or boat) was excellent and the narration as well.
