Anchorage Info Needed

Is it possible to rent a car ay the terminal in Whittier and drive it to the ANC airport? Which companies would you recommend? Thanks.

May I suggest that you post this on the Whittier forum? When are you travelling? We have most of the national car rental firms here in Anchorage. I just did a google search and see that Avis and Budget appear to have agents in Whittier. Also found that Priceline has rentals available in Whittier. Why do you want to rent a car instead of taking the train? If you are arriving on a cruise, they usually have transportation to Anchorage. Hope this gets you started on your research.

Thanks so much Kileysmom. The reason I%26#39;m considering renting a car in Whittier is to just get in the car and take our time getting to ANC. We will definitely rent a car becuase our flight does not leave until 10PM. If we take the cruise shuttle, we will rent a car in Anchorage. There are 4 of us and the shuttle is $65 per person...and then we would rent a car. So I figured it would be better to just rent a car at the cruise dock if we could. The last time we came in to Seward so I%26#39;ve never been to Whittier and don%26#39;t know anything about it. I will check the Whittier forum. Any info you can pass along would be greatly apreciated.

You could also try the Whittier chamber by running a google search and see if they would advise you as to what agencies are there.

That transfer fee is ridiculous! You%26#39;re right - rent a car but also take a look at the train - it%26#39;s a beautiful ride and you can rent a car when you get to Anchorage if the drop off fee is too high for a one-way rental.
