RV or car for sightseeing Kenai and Denali

We are going to Alaska next July(1-18). We plan on touring around for the first 10 days before cruising from Whittier to Vancouver the last week. My question is should we rent a RV or car for the 10 days touring? We will have our two kids age 14 %26amp; 11 with us. I want to see Homer and Seward on the Kenai Pen. and then up to Denali for a few days. We will probably spend the first night we arrive and the last night before we leave for Whittier in Anchorage so I figure thats when we%26#39;ll see the city. Any suggestions would be appreciated and also how many days to spend in Homer, Seward and Denali since we will only have eight days to split up, I was thinking three in Homer, two in Seward and three in Denali?

It sounds great, three nights in Denali, three in Homer and two in Seward. It is a short distance from Seward to Whittier so you do not need to spend a night before your cruise in Anchorage but I suggest spending a night somewhere between Denali and Homer as it would be about 10 hours or longer between these two destinations and you would miss too much on the way. In Alaska you have to slow down so you could make many stops for wildlife and scenery. Maybe you should stay in Palmer/Wasilla area or Girdwood or you may consider spending another night in Anchorage while traveling from Denali to Homer.

Only you can decide what type of transportation and accommodations would work for you. Many visitors are happy renting RV, many others prefer renting a car and staying in hotels, lodges, chalets, cabins, B%26amp;Bs. There are many choices available and you have to decide. Be aware of suggestions stating that the only way to see Alaska is to rent a RV or camp or something else. The choice is yours.
