A sure sign that Fall is ending and winter fast approaching for us in the Interior . . . huge flocks of cranes overhead. They are a distinct reminder of the change of seasons . . . how quickly summer goes up in this country. :)
Saw the first of the cranes flying overhead today . . .Wow! I wish I were there to see it. Coalminer, thank you for sharing this news with us. Did you take pictures?
One day we want to visit Nebraska in March where hundreds of thousand of cranes stay for a few weeks before continuing their long journey to Alaska. One of the reasons why I want o go back to Fairbanks is to see these graceful birds and photograph them.
Saw the first of the cranes flying overhead today . . .I was at Creamer%26#39;s Field in Fairbanks at the time of the Sandhill Crane Festival and enjoyed viewing them. They also winter in the San Jouquin Valley in California so we are glad to know they might be headed our way soon!
