Late May?

Has anyone been in late May and if so, was it too cold to do much? And with that not being prime time, were plenty of tours still available?

Late May?

Hi there! Mid May is the beginning of the tourist season all over the state, so you will be able to do just about everything. It will be colder at the higher elevations, such as in Denali Park - you will still see snow on the ground in places and not much get green up here until early June, but other places around the state will be green and lovely. Hope that helps you some. :)

Late May?

thanks, coalminer!

Southeast Alaska is gorgeous in late May......wildflowers blooming and the weather warming up.....occasional drizzly rain, snow melted but still in view on the mountains....cruise ships are cruising, hikers are hiking, kayak and rafting tours operating.....come on up and join us !!

I cruised in SE Alaska this year June 4-11 and weather was cool but beautiful. Day%26#39;s peaked around 62ish. Slept every night with slider to balcony open. That may be the New Englander in me but it was nice sleeping. Everything open. Loved every minute.
