I%26#39;m staying at a hotel at 4th and K but the hotel wants to charge $18/day for parking. Is there overnight stree parking within walking distance.

Yes, there is. You can park at any meter overnight as long as we don%26#39;t get snow! The meters stop at 6PM and don%26#39;t start again until 9AM. There are meters along 4th and along I St. (there is no J St.) near the hotel - I assume you are staying at the Capt. Cook? There are more meters on the 5th Ave. side of the hotel as well. You shouldn%26#39;t have a problem. Hope this helps - have a great stay.
