Going to stay at the Inn at Whitteir the first week in June of 2007. Anybody stayed there yet? Can you recommend any charters for fishing or flightseeing for bear in the Whittier area or around the Kenai penninsula?

I can tell you who NOT to use for a charter, Bread n Butter Charters. Bad experience and complete wast of money. You can read my original post about it , on the Alaska Forum portion of trip adviser title ';Bread n Butter charters-big disappointment';. It was a complete waste of $740 . Actually the most fun I ever had in Alaska was renting a boat from whittier boat rental, along with salmon and halibut fishing gear and heading out with 4 other friends. The boat is equipped with GPS and a fishfinder. It was fabulous, best 5 or 600 spent! We found a place to camp out, caught salmon, halibut, rock fish, red snapper. Just be careful of the tide coming in and out when you anchor the boat for the night! Took the boat to see a glacier, sea otters. I think we took the 24 footer with an enclosure.
