We are planning a mid to late May 2007 trip. We are traveling from South Florida and we don%26#39;t own many heavy clothes so I plan to shop. We would like to do several activities like Helicopter/Snowmobile, floatplane with landing, horseback riding and glacier/wildlife cruise. Do we need special snow pants? It seems like Jeans would get wet in snow and be uncomfortable. What would be the most comfortable? Also, are snow boots necessary or could we get water proof hiking boots? Should we have a water proof jacket? Sorry if this sounds silly but I really have no idea what to expect.
Thank you.
What to pack?I suggest you read Coalminer%26#39;s Inside Page

No, you won%26#39;t need snow pants and snow boots. Hiking boots are sufficient. Bring lots of reliable rain gear.
What to pack?If you are going snowmaching, then you really must have snow pants and boots. If you are taking a snowmachine tour with a company then they may have this gear but I would check.
