Driving from Seward to Fairbanks

we will be in Alaska in August and would like to drive from Seward to Fairbanks. Are the roads good? How long will this trip take? Anything to see in between?

Driving from Seward to Fairbanks

Well, it%26#39;s a long drive - probably more than 8 hours, not including any stopping. Roads for the most part, are 2 way highway driving - all paved and hopefully not under construction, as that happens during the summer frequently. TONS of stuff to see btw Seward and Fairbanks - Girdwood, Anchorage, Hatcher Pass, Talkeetna, Denali State Park, Denali National Park - and that is just naming the main spots in the road, not all the activities that you could do in each of them. Any specifics on what you would like to see and do??

It%26#39;s more than 8 hours. That time of the year, the trip from Seward to Anchorage will take 2+ hours. Then it%26#39;s another 7-8 onto Fairbanks.

Sure, you can drive in one long day but you are going to miss so many amazing spots on the way. Why? The roads are good just like some roads in Florida but with less traffic. Do search here on this forum under Girdwood, Anchorage, Hatcher Pass, Talkeetna, Denali National Park and see for yourself what you would be missing. I hope you reconsider you marathon from Seward to Fairbanks and include other fabulous stops on the way.
