looking for a room with a view!

I%26#39;m looking for a recommendation on a place to stay near Denali. Top on my list of desires is a porch with a view for enjoying my morning coffee or an evening nightcap. Something moderately priced...under $150/night. I%26#39;d love a cabin, but a hotel/motel with a private balcony would be ok, too. Any ideas? Thank you!

Hi there! Have been thinking about this . . . probably one of the best views would be from Camp Denali - one of the few places you could stay and have a view of Mt. McKinley! Places near the entrance - well, any of the hotels in that area do have mountain views . . . along with all the other tourist business stuff. The Grand Denali sits atop a cliff, so they and Crow%26#39;s nest probably have one of the best views due to where they are situated.

In Healy (12 miles North) both Denali Lakeview Inn and Denali Lakeside Lodging have mountain views along with a pretty lake - Otto Lake, so that would be lovely. Up on the Stampede, at Touch of Wilderness or Earthsong, you would have mountain views.

South of the Park, in the McKinley Village area, you would have mountain views along with Nenana river views . . . that area is pretty, though some things are tucked in the valley. This would include places like Grizzly bear, Perch, etc.

But since you specified cabin, then I would probably do with Denali Lakeside lodging or perhaps a cabin at Grizzly bear . . . there are a few others in the area as well, though the name escapes me. Also depends on how much ';space'; you want. Some cabins are built right alongside others, whereas other businesses have them distinct and separate. Oh, and Aspen Haus here in Healy is operated like a B%26amp;B, but they have a nice mtn view as well. That%26#39;s all I can think of at the moment - many of these can be found as www.denalichamber.com, but if you need a specific link, post again and I would be happy to help you find it. Good luck! :)

Aspen Haus has cabins with small porches and a great view ( homemade baked goods and breads everyday) and a great place for morning coffee...Rates are about $115 for a cabin with private bath!

Cabins have queen beds and private baths and great linens. Willow or Birch are my favorite cabins
