Best dog sled tour

Hi,

We will have 10 hours in Juneau and really want to do a dog sled tour. Our cruise line, Celebrity, offers one. The other tours we are considering are the Dolly Varden tour, the Coastal Helicopters tour, or the Temsco Air tour which operates in conjunction with Alaska Icefields Expeditions.

Does anyone have any experience using any of these companies for a dog sled tour?

I%26#39;m also interested in the sled dog tours. We%26#39;re going in September and that%26#39;s the one shore excursion that caught my husband%26#39;s attention.

We didn%26#39;t go last summer, but we did do some research. If you want to ride on snow/ice, you%26#39;ll need a tour that takes you to a glacier. Some tours will just add wheels to the sled and take you on trails. Also, on many tours you are a passenger on the sled, on some you can mush yourself. Here%26#39;s a link with a lot of info:

I%26#39;m also going on Celebrity in June. They offer 2 Glacier tours from Juneau. One goes to the Mendenhall and the other goes to Norris I don%26#39;t know which to choose. I%26#39;m looking for info now and came across your question. Did you get any answers?

hi.. a little late on this post, but wanted to add that i do not recommend dolly varden and possibly coastal helicopters. we had a trip booked through dolly varden for a heli tour of a glacier, and coastal was to be the operator. our reservations were messed up, and we were left waiting... and waiting. we were offered one other time which did not work for us, and ended up booking with another company for a higher price. they made NO attempts to contact me and apologize or anything despite the fact that i booked many trips the them, spent a lot of money . they ignored my contacts, and generally the customer service was really poor and i was not satisfied with the outcome. i asked for the difference in price between their tour that i booked and the one that i actually took, which was less than 10% of the total money i spent with the company, and they flat out refused.

very frustrating experience, and in light of that i recommend trying another company.
