They%26#39;ve got a great deal on early reservation $399. I haven%26#39;t found much on them in the forums though- although they are highly rated by tripadvisor. They are also members of the Homer Chamber of Commerce.
Anyone have any input? The pricing makes them very tantalizing!
K Bay Air- bear viewing
We went with K-Bay 2 summers ago and had a brilliant time. We were very impressed with Michael both as a pilot and a bear savvy guide. They aren%26#39;t as well known as the larger outfits, but I%26#39;d go with Michael again (actually, at that price I think I%26#39;ll get my booking in now!)
K Bay Air- bear viewing
A colleague of mine did a trip with K Bay and was very pleased. We booked a trip with Emerald Air for $200 p.p. more. Maybe I%26#39;ll cancel that one and rebook with K Bay.
I gave Michael a call down at K-Bay about the special pricing. It%26#39;s only on a stand-by basis, so the idea is that you wait and see if anyone else books up the seat at the regular rate and if any seats are going spare (there is often a single seat spare because there are often two couples in the group and the plane takes 5 passengers)then the stand-by people get to go. So it%26#39;s fine if you are a single, or willing to go one at a time, and have a few days in Homer with the flexibility to jump on with last minute notice.
If you want a confirmed seat then the full booking price applies.
So up to the individual if that suits them or not.
Thanks for clarifying. So it is not a discount for ';early reservations.'; I love deals - but I always like to read the fine print too!
John
Double thanks for clarifying as well. It might still be worth it for us as we plan to be in Homer for three days... Will have to give him a call. Thank you for the information!
Thanks, we%26#39;ll stay with Emerald.
