Photos and scrapbooking in Juneau

Hello! It%26#39;s me again. How late do the shops stay open in Juneau if the cruise ships are in town and are there any scrapbook stores in Juneau? Every alaskan website is not working and I am guessing maybe they are not in existance anymore. Any suggestions for Alaskan scrapbooking supples and stores that sell photos of Alaskan wildlife and scenery.

Thanks,

Debbie

Photos and scrapbooking in Juneau

Stores are pretty much open when the cruise ships are there, once the ships leave (even if it%26#39;s 4 or 5 in the afternoon), most of them shut down.

Not a scrapbooker, didn%26#39;t notice if there were any stores there.

You will have lots of opportunities to buy photos, but they can be rather pricey. You don%26#39;t want to take your own pics???

I%26#39;m not a scrapbooker either. But I do know how to google, lol. There appears to be a store in Juneau:

And this seems to have a lot more ideas:

As for photos, have you considered using postcards?

HI

I found that most gift shops had scrapbooking stuff for that area, like Juneau or Skagway or Inside Passage.

The NCL Pearl sold scrapbook stuff and when I got home I googled Alaska scrapbooking and found several webpage to order stuff from

hope this helps

Thank you to everyone who helped with my scrapbooking/photo dilemma. Post cards are a great idea. I plan on taking three camaras. One for me, one for my husband and one in case something happens to one of the other ones. Remember it is all about the memories caught on film. I am gald to hear that most gift shops have scrapbooking embellishments and stickers for that area. Thank you also for the advise for googling and the websites.

I had read a great tip before we went to Alaska, if possible have a memory card for each day.

Write on a note card thats days events, then take a picture of that note card and place it with the memory card in a ziplock baggie, do this each day of your trip.

Reason why is incase you lose the note card the picture you took still has your list of places and events to remind you when you get home and look at your pictures. It also helps with remembering which mountain is which!

You will take tons of pictures and this helped me to know which glacier was which when I got home!

I kept a journal (I contacted a little bookshop in Sitka that we%26#39;d been to before and got an appropriate AK book from them and had it sent to me, whole deal, less than $20) for the first time this past July on a mothership cruise that we did, then I used it to make this book (we had it printed, it%26#39;s a beautiful coffeetable book!!!)...

We%26#39;re leaving for the South Pacific in two weeks and that%26#39;s how I%26#39;m doing it again.

Dear Mcmommy,

Wow what a great idea! Will definetly use this information and will use the note cards. You understand how important it is to relive your travels over and over again. I have two kids one is 8 and the other is 5. I have a scarpbook for each of them, for each year of their life. Kathryn has 8 so far and Chritopher has 5. Some people ask well when are you going to stop? Stop????????????????? Hello!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I also make scrapbooks of our trips. I will make copies of this info and share with my scrapbooking friends. It%26#39;s all about the photos, the adventure and the memories!

Thank you again,

Debbie

Dear Kiawahbeth,

Words do not even come close to describing your photo album - beautiful, awesome, breathtaking they don%26#39;t even scratch the surface! I cried! Your pictures told your story which is what is all about! The pictures needed no words because they spoke for themselves! All I can say is WOW! Please explain more about this book from Sitka. Also how much did you album end up costing you? I usually do my scrapbooks by hand, but I just love the shutterfly way and am very tempted to do it that way! I need to know where the starfish pistures were taken. I am a diver and love the underwater world also. I loved the pages of the wildflowers! The photo of you and hubby kissing in front of the glasier made me cry! I will visit your photo album a few more times before I go. It is the anticipation before the trip that is awesome also. Could you send me another private message with your email address. I would love to see your south pacific scrapbook when you come back! If you have other scrapbooks I would love to see them also. Thank you so much for taking the time to help me with my trip! Your are a kindred spirit! Have fun on your trip

Debbie
