Taxi or car service

We need to know what is the best means to get from Anchorage to Whittier Cruise lines. We know the crusie line has shuttle service but are thier other company%26#39;s that are reliable. We are arriving July 14th and must depart on crusie by 9 p but would like to geet thier early in a.m.

Taxi or car service

I assume your cruise departs on July 15th? I would suggest an option that gets you to Whittier in time for a Prince William Sound cruise. They leave about 1pm and it is an excellent way to start out your cruise, especially if you are not spending any other time in the interior of Alaska. They are much smaller boats than your cruise ship and can get much closer to the glaciers.

Here is my list of available companies for transfers. But be warned that some of them get very negative reviews, even from the BBB. I would suggest the Alaskan Leopard - and doubly so if you decline the option to go on a Prince William Sound cruise.

not this fare for am transfers Tel 1-877-454-3046.

http://www.themagicbus.com/ - about $42 per person

www.alaskatransportation.net- $39/person – bad reviews

Also, you can take the Alaska Railroad down. I don%26#39;t know what the fare is though. I think they time it for people to take the boat trips which I agree with John are really worthwhile. Phillips 26 Glacier Cruise is very good. Keep in mind that Whittier is very small and there is not a lot to do there other than the boat trips while waiting to get on your ship.

How many are in your party. I was looking for transport from Seward to Anchorage for 6 people. The cost for Celebrity tour bus was $79 pp. I booked with http://www.alaskansplendor.com/. The cost was $78 pp with a limo for the 6 of us. We thought after the cruise it would be nice not to have to be hearded into a bus with a large group. Looked at the train but it would not work for us because the late departure and the need to catch a plane that pm.

has anyone heard of this group.

Never heard of Alaskan Splendor. Perhaps some locals have. Please post back after your trip to let us know how they were.

Also, I would encourage you to ask them if they could make a stop for you along the way. It only takes +-3 hours from Seward to Anchorage. If they stopped at the wildlife conservation center or Portage Glacier visitor center for 1/2 hour it would be worth a few extra dollars per person in my opinion.
