High Adventure Air

Does anyone have any experience or comments on High Adventure Air in Soldotna?

I was looking at their Silver Salmon package.

I asked a friend who lives in Soldotna if he knew anything about High Adventure Air. He told me that they have a good reputation and have been in business for a long time.

The only thing that he knew about their fishing trips is that they are pretty rustic with good fishing and large mosquitoes.

This outfit goes back a long time.

I went on a fly-out fishing trip with them in july, 1991 and they really delivered! We caught silver salmon one-after-another.

If I could do it all over again, the only things that I would do differently would be, 1.) bring along a small Webber grill (with enough charcoal, mesquite, seasonings and cutlery gear to grill on-site), and 2.) bring a larger caliber side arm. I brought a 9mm last time, but after seeing the fresh bear tracks on the embankment where we were fishing, I figured I would need all 13 rounds in the clip or a larger caliber bullet.

Oh, BTW, bring a gun or fish with someone who has one on them.

I did a fly out with High Adventure air last year. We had a great time. The 4 of us got our limits of Silver Salmon, and then got a great video of bears at a Salmon Hole on a creek nearby.

Matter of fact I got great footage of 2 Teenaged brown bears in a dominance fight. You can find it on Youtube search for bears at salmon hole.

The pilot was professional, the guide was great, and the fishing was awesome. Wolverine Creek was where we fished. The rest of the group flew into a more remote lake later and caught trout and grayling.

I am looking forward to another trip with High Adventure Air. We booked them through Funny Moose Lodge in Alaska

Our trip to Wolverine Creek with High Adventure Air was the highlight of our Alaska trip. We did not catch salmon (we were a bit early) but we didn%26#39;t really care because of the amazing experience of the float plane takeoff and landing, the beautiful scenery, and the bear viewing experience.
