Should we go to Fairbanks

From those of you who have been there, should we make the trip up to Fairbanks. We will be in Alaska for about 2 weeks in June. I can%26#39;t decide if we should go up to Fairbanks after seeing Denali. We will be there around the summer solstice and that might be interesting. I am curious what others think...

It would help to know your entire plan and see what you might be foregoing in order to include Fairbanks.

I will be in Alaska for 2 weeks the end of June. We will be in Fairbanks for summer solstice which is a big thing in Fairbanks from all I have read. My nephew and I are going to the Midnight Sun baseball game. In fact, if you will be in Fairbanks on June 21st and want to go to the game, look for a post I am about to create.

I say definitely YES! I suggest a search on this forum for the many posts made earlier with the many things to do in Fairbanks listed, and take your choice to match your interests.

You mention the Summer Solstice, and one thing not mentioned on this forum before is driving up the Steese Highway to the Pinnell Mountain Trail by Eagle Summit to watch the midnight sun. You are below the Arctic Circle, but the additional elevation gives a view of the midnight sun around the Solstice.

The Midnight Sun baseball game is sooooo much fun. Here are my pictures from a couple of years ago.

It%26#39;s the only game played with no lights, and it is played at midnight. They also stop the game at midnight to sing the national anthem and the Alaska State Song.
