RV/Trailer Parking In Haines

My family and I will be spending about 5 weeks in Haines starting the first of April. We%26#39;re looking for recommendations for RV parks (with hookups) for our 26%26#39; travel trailer.

I saw about Swan Lake here in the forum, but that sounds like it%26#39;s out farther than we%26#39;d care to be.

Any advice on the parks that are closer to town?

Thanks.

There are 5 RV parks, 3 of which seem to meet your requirements (if they%26#39;re open that early). haines.ak.us/hainesweb/…RV

RV/Trailer Parking In Haines

Hi Jay

Since you will be staying so long, you will probably want to stay at the Haines Hitch Up.....they are not ocean front, but I think they would be more comfortable for a long term stay......there is more space between the parking spaces and the grounds are manicured grass, very nice.....www.hitchuprv.com

They are also within walking distance of grocery stores, library, etc......

Oops just noticed you will be coming first of April, that%26#39;s just a few weeks away.......they probably won%26#39;t be open by then....Oceanside RV Park may be the only one which is open yearround......http://oceansiderv.com/

I have noticed RV%26#39;s parking in the Elks club parking lot this winter, too.....

Heck, come on down, we%26#39;ll find a place for you !!

Actually, it%26#39;s ';come on up'; since we%26#39;re coming from banging around the Lower 48 for a few months, but we%26#39;ll be there.

I see the weather along the way isn%26#39;t as balmy as I hoped, so we might have to push our arrival back a week, but we%26#39;ll be there at some point.

Thanks for the RV info.

Unless your accustomed to winter camping, April is going to be pretty early. I%26#39;ve driven the Alaska Highway in April, most RV parks will not be open. It%26#39;s unlikely you%26#39;ll encounter any below zero temps but it will certainly be below freezing every night and most days. Since Haines is on the ocean it will be warmer but wetter. You might consider waiting until May.

Also check out rvparkreviews.com it%26#39;s a Trip Adviser for RV Parks. Two parks in Haines have been reviewed.
