I witnessed the events surrounding this mother and daughter at Denali River Cabins. They are not correct in their reporting of these events. Nor are they correct in the repsonse to their perceived problem of security at this property. Truth is, these guests did not give the manager or anyone at this property time to speak, let alone investigate any complaints that were made. These two guests were consistently rude and verbally agreessive during their stay. As a reader and traveler, I feel that both sides of a dispute should be heard. That did not happen in this case. Just an observer thinking that both sides of this story should be heard.
Regarding ';Beware! You are not safe'; at Denali River Cabins
Hello reserves . . . how about clearing up some confusion - what is this in reference to?? That would be helpful for us on the forum. Thanks! :)
Regarding ';Beware! You are not safe'; at Denali River Cabins
Denali River Cabins are being trashed at many places on the %26#39;Net - including 2 reviews here at TA - ie tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g143022-d272…
The lengthy discussion about it at CruiseCritic left me with a feeling that there was a LOT more to the story than what is being told by the OP, who comes across as a ';drama queen';. I say that as someone who has had the same experience at least 4 times in various hotels over the years.

If folks are looking for a nice place to stay avoid the Denali River Cabins and enjoy paying more at the Princess or Westmark.
I stayed at the Denali River Cabins in June ’06 and loved it. Yes, they are extremely rustic, but I think that was part of the appeal. I travel quite extensively and learned a long time ago to always place the “Do Not Disturb” card on my door because you never know who is going to walk into your room. If my room doesn’t have one, I go looking for one. If they don’t have any I do my best to make sure it’s obvious someone is in that room.
One thing I’ve learned over the years is that major travel destinations are typically staffed by college kids and let’s be honest; catering to the needs of your average tourist isn’t high on their priority list. Sometimes you have to roll with the punches. It’s also be my experience that you get what you give. If you’re friendly and understanding, many times you’ll receive the same. If you’re not, people instantly cop an attitude and are not willing to help. Obviously there are exceptions to this.
I enjoyed my experience at Denali River Cabins, but I can appreciate that they’re not for everyone. Again, they are rustic and amenities are limited (I was surprised the rooms had a TV). It’s always best to research the hotels closely if you expect a great deal from a hotel/motel/resort.
