State Park Camping

Can reservations be made for camping in the State Parks?

I haven%26#39;t run across a site yet - am I looking in the wrong spots?

We are particulary interested in getting reservations for Denali State Park, since we know the dates we will be at the National Park before our stop at the State Park.

State Park Camping

Here is the website for Alaska State Parks: www.alaskastateparks.org. However, I believe that you can only reserve cabins, not campsites. My favorite site is Byers Lake in Denali State park, and even in the middle of summer, we have always found a site. Good luck! :)

State Park Camping

You can book the Eagle River campground in Chugach state park through them: http://www.lifetimeadventures.net/ (I think it is the only state campground you can reserve) I booked it as a ';just in case'; over the Labor Day weekend, but ended up finding a spot elsewhere.

We reserved an RV site ahead of time in Riley Creek campground at Denali, a couple of years ago. Coalminer.....is this not possible any more?

Puter - yes, you can still book campgrounds here in Denali National Park, but they are asking about Denali State Park, which is closer to Talkeetna. Ah, it gets confusing up here sometimes with all the Denali%26#39;s and McKinley%26#39;s . . . so rest assured, some things haven%26#39;t changed! :)

Thanks, coalminer......yes, confusing.....
